ConstructConnect reported that June 2026 Total Nonresidential Construction Starts — the sum of Nonresidential Building and Civil Construction — reached $100.3 billion, up $24.8 billion from May’s revised $75.5 billion.

Chief Economist Michael Guckes indicated that Offices, including Data Centers, surged $14.5 billion to $23.5 billion — more than a third of all Nonresidential Building starts in a single month.

Guckes added, "The month’s gains were sharply concentrated rather than broad-based, a distinction that contractors reading headline totals as a measure of available pipeline should weigh carefully."
