Top 10 US Construction Starts by Dollar Volume for July 2025

In the August 2025 Construction Economy Snapshot, Chief Economist Michael Guckes reported that through July 2025, total U.S. construction starts showed mixed performance, rising 0.1% year over year and 3.7% year to date, but falling 15.9% month over month.

Nonresidential starts dropped to $69.8 billion in July, down from June’s record $81.1 billion, while megaproject spending surged 58% year to date, adding $42.5 billion and driving growth in offices, manufacturing, and sports facilities.

Data center construction starts are included in the Offices type-of-structure category. The top 10 construction project starts through July totaled $27.6B and were led by the Richland Parish Meta Data Center
