A $5.9 million manufacturing facility expansion by manufacturer Bavarian Polymers is set to bring 33 new jobs and millions of dollars in economic impact to Abilene, Texas, officials announced this week.
The project, announced by the Development Corporation of Abilene (DCOA), will add roughly 30,000 square feet to the existing plant, creating 33 new jobs and retaining 19 current positions.
In a LinkedIn post, The Development Corporation of Abilene said, "The expansion is projected to generate over $252 million in direct and indirect economic impact for Abilene over the next 10 years once the expansion is complete."
The initiative represents a public-private partnership between the city and Bavarian Polymer aimed at maintaining Abilene's role as an employment center in the region. A project start date was not included in the announcement.
Bavarian Polymers, founded in 2005 and headquartered in Dickson, Tennessee, with a satellite plant in Abilene, Texas, specializes in the manufacture of residential and commercial vinyl window and door extrusions.
