In Muskegon, GE Aerospace plans a 20,000-square-foot addition at its facility on Latimer Drive. Originally opened in May 2017, the plant's expansion aims to improve shipping and receiving operations and increase manufacturing floor space to accommodate rising customer demand. According to Muskegon County, the expansion will create 90 new positions within two years and no changes to the plant’s existing 331-person workforce. Construction is projected to wrap up by October 2027.

In nearby Norton Shores, the company is plotting a 16,000-square-foot expansion at its Norton Center Drive facility, on the back of growth in both GE’s aerospace and defense markets. That project, representing $7.2 million in capital investment, is expected to generate 70 new skilled jobs by February 2027.

In the press release announcing the news, company and local leaders framed the twin projects as a vote of confidence in Muskegon County’s workforce and business climate.
