Clearview Mall Redevelopment Set to Advance, Restaurant Relocation Paves Way for Demolition

KEY POINTS

  • Zea Rotisserie & Bar will relocate by May 2026, triggering major demolition and redevelopment at Clearview City Center.

  • The $100 million revitalization plan includes new residential, retail, dining, and entertainment facilities.

  • Completion of the full buildout is targeted for 2028.

Clearview Mall, which opened in 1969 and is now called Clearview City Center, is moving ahead with a major redevelopment in 2026. The project will take its next step when Zea Rotisserie & Bar relocates to a newly built space on the Metairie, Louisiana, property.

The restaurant has been at the mall for over two decades and will continue operations in its current space until May 2026, WVUE reported. Construction is expected to be completed on a new Zea building on the north side of the property’s parking lot by May 2026.

Following the restaurant’s move, key sections of the existing mall will undergo demolition to make way for a large-scale mixed-use development.

$100 Million Mixed-Use Vision

The redevelopment, part of a $100 million investment, aims to transform the half-century-old mall into a modern mixed-use hub combining retail, dining, entertainment, and residential offerings.

Since breaking ground for the redevelopment in 2020, several project elements have already opened, including a bank, dining, and apartments. Completion of the full buildout is targeted for 2028.

A milestone in the redevelopment was the $115 million transformation of the former Sears building into an Ochsner Medical Center. The company said on its website that it is a key anchor of the Clearview City Center redevelopment, has created over 400 jobs, and offers comprehensive medical services, including a 10-bed micro-hospital.

Additionally, Target stores have invested $9 million to improve their retail location within the mall complex.
